40,000 Credits

Greetings Captain and welcome to the Anoat Sector. As you are aware Imperial and Rebel forces recently clashed here. The battle moved on as Rebel Ships fled the area and the Imperial fleet maintain pursuit. For your salvage crew this present a unique opportunity. You can get in there a retrieve a treasure trove of salvage or maybe even rescue a grateful survivor (or collect a bounty on them).

You are not the only person that knows about this. Others will be searching as well….

The Mission:

Arrive in the Asteroid and Debris Field.

This asteroid field is popular amongst smugglers and pirates. Be wary of traps and defenses that they might have left behind

It has been rumored that a space slug lurks in the field ready to feast on the careless pilot that ventures too close.

Investigate the Debris

  • There will be multiple debris fields on the table
  • They will be moving 1 or 2 each turn
  • Your Large Base Ship can spend an action to scan each debris piece. In order to do this he will need to be within Range 3 to do this.

Recover Valuables

In order to claim the Prize the Large Base Ship needs to maintain target lock and stay within range one of the debris field at the end of two combat phases to grapple it and claim it.  In the event that two players are trying to recover the same piece it will be a draw until one player disengages (either by his own volition or by force). Once the debris has been claimed the field goes off of the table. The effect of the debris card (if any) goes into effect immediately. Items that are recovered that are upgrades and munitions are available to use on the next turn.

Other Debris Rules

  • Debris will Recycle when one piece goes off the board another will come on. It will come from a random edge and at a random speed and bearing.
  • If a NPC capitol ship runs into debris. They capture it.

Don’t Get Killed

If your ship gets shot down it will regenerate at the nearest table edge but it will cost you the point value of the ship for this. If one on your opponent's shoot you down he gets those points.

You are not the only captain interested in what treasures the debris field has to offer. Even though the battle has moved on forces from both sides are about. You would be well served to stay out of their business if you can.

Inside the Large Asteroid

There is a large asteroid at the edge of the field where quite a bit of debris has drifted into a cavern

Navigating the Cavern

  • If you go on the base of the walls treat it like overlapping and asteroid token.
  • If you hit a wall it is a bump and still and must test as if it overlapped an asteroid token. If you bump that wall again your ship is destroyed.

Debris

  • Debris pick up is different than out in space. Inside the cave you must have you base overlap the field going either a straight or bank 1 or 2 (Also a 0 Stop would work too). Anything else is too fast or too much maneuvering to capture the debris. Debris is stationary inside the asteroid.
  • Debris in the Cavern will not damage ships
  • AT-AT’s will be going after Debris as well.

Force Composition:

100 points or less. Try to keep it thematic and try not to bring the same thing as everyone else. Try to limit unique characters. Why would the Emperor be sniffing around an asteroid field? Thematically the following character should be avoided:

  • The Emperor
  • Han Solo
  • Kylo Ren
  • Cassian Andor
  • Bodhi Rook
  • Jyn Erso
  • Baze Malbus
  • Bistan

I would also like to keep the following ships out for thematic reasons

  • Upsilon Shuttle
  • Special Forces Tie
  • Tie F/O
  • T-70 X-Wing

However the one thing to keep in mind is that this takes place between Episode V and Episode VI.

I will have some generic forces for people to use as well.

How the NPC Fleets Work.

To run all of the NPC fighters I am using the Mark 13 X-Wing Solo AI App. to move the fighters. More information can be found here: http://herkybird.tynesidewargames.co.uk/x-wing.html

NPC Squadron Movement

  • Squadrons are grouped together and treated like a large base ship for movement purposes.
  • They cannot boost or barrel roll

Targeting:

Here is how we determine what the NPC fleet as doing:

  • Tie’s will be concentrating on Rebel fighters.
  • X-Wings will be concentrating on Imperials Small Ships
  • A-Wings, B-Wings, and Y-wings will be concentrating on Imperial capitol ships.
  • Capitol Ships will be concentrating on each other.
  • Scum Ships are considered independent salvagers who pay their taxes to the Empire until such as time as they are hostile to one or the other forces. If they fire on one of the NPC forces they will be considered Hostile and all ships in that group will be targeted by that group.
  • Player squadrons can fire at each other without worry of becoming a target of the NPC fleets.
  • If a player is flying an Imperial Squadron they will be targeted by Rebel NPC Forces and vice versa.

NPC Squadron Firing

  • NPC Squadron vs. NPC Squadron – They total all of their dice and base the number on the closest.
  • For example a 4 Tie Squadron Fires at a 4 X-wing squadron at Range three. The Ties throw a total of 8 red dice (2 for each Tie). The X-wing throw 12 green dice (2 for each x-wing + one for being in range 3)
  • NPC vs. Player ships – this goes Ship to Ship. Ranging and shooting happens like normal.
  • NPC Cap vs NPC Cap – this goes Ship to Ship. Ranging and shooting happens like normal.
  • NPC Cap Ships vs NPC Squadrons – this goes Ship to Ship. Ranging and shooting happens like normal.
  • NPC Cap Ships vs player Squadrons – this goes Ship to Ship. Ranging and shooting happens like normal.

Scoring

We are keeping score. Points are given for the following things

  • Debris Cards are worth between 200-3600 points
  • NPC Ties are worth 15 point for each one shot down
  • NPC Rebel Fighters are worth: 25 points each
  • NPC Tantives are worth 125 points
  • NPC Raiders are worth 125 points
  • NPC GR-75’s are worth 50 points
  • NPC Gonzanti’s are worth 50 Points
  • Turrets are worth 10 Point each time they are taken down
  • AT-AT’s are worth 100 points
  • Other player’s ships are worth their point value
  • Every time your ship is shot down and you regenerate you lose that many points.
