Got started today on my new commissar for my Kasrkin Imperial guard army. This one is made by Grim Skull and it's called the Imperial iron commissar. Looking at it it's got some good detail it's all resin very clean cast. Very minimal cleanup needed.

When I was looking at it I was wondering if I should actually go and pin pieces together but when I stuck the sword arm into the arm it went in there with a nice little peg that stuck in there pretty well without any glue and was pretty solidly in there so at that point I pretty much decided that I was not going to do that. The head was a ball and socket joint which easily fit in and once again it was a very clean cast no mold lines.

Like all my resin kits that I do the secret to success is getting them cleaned prior to doing any painting or assembly. And this guy was no exception. I sent him into the Sonic tank for a nice bath and then pull off most of the water and then it got a rinse for alcohol. once he was dry, I assembled him. Then gave him a coat of white primer. Now I'm pretty much going to let him just sit and have this primer cure and work on probably tomorrow or maybe later tonight.

Regarding my storm troopers or Kasrkin I have gone and finished up with a white primer on the gloves the data pads and started on the helmet cams and the wrist computers.

Still trying to figure out what I'm going to do about the commander of this army. The unfortunate thing about these guys is there was not a huge amount of sculpts and not a giant amount of variation. So unfortunately I'm kind of stuck with either having to kit bash something or go to a third party vendor for other figures there are a couple that I'm looking at right now on eBay they have a possibility if the shoulder pads were exact matches it would be a slam dunk and I would get it without any hesitation but there are little differences and I need to figure out how much conversion work I have to do to make them so they match the existing figures.

The other thing I would like to figure out how to do is how to fit Sentinels into this force. Looking at them they seem to match what I'm trying to do but army listwise I can't really figure out how to make it work. Needless to say, I'll come up with something I just don't know how I'm going to make it work legally for tournament use if I decide to go that route (which I probably won't). It would be really cool to have something like this though is some sort of transportation device like a Valkyrie transport but instead of it being an enclosed space it would have an open space similar to a sky crane.
