Last January my buddy Wayne and I got a booth for the GK Flea Market at the Mountain View store. (Little did we know that this was going to be the last Flea Market any of us would ever attend there).

We are setting up our table there and as we are doing so, a guy across from us along with his wife are setting up boxes and boxes of GW products. He then puts a sign up saying that everything on the table is free.

I had been interested in getting back into it for a while, so I go an ask him about it. He tells me that he has way too much of it and he needs to thin things out so he is just giving it away. I am amazed by this, so I take a starter set and a Deathwatch Overkill set. I give him a few bucks even though he said he wanted none of it. In retrospect I wished that I looked at what he had a little more thoroughly and got a few more things but anyhow I had enough to get started.

I looked at what I had and there were enough Death Guard, Space Marines and Gene Stealer Cultists to get started. I Start looking through eBay which was a first for me in a while. As kind of an aside I decided to pick up Kill Team as well. I picked up a few pieces here and there with an eye to getting my Death Guard Army up to snuff. Got some codex’s and away I went.

While were doing this our landlord decided to raise the rent on our place. At that point we decided it was time to move so all project got put aside for a few months while we packed and found a new place. Fortunately, we found a great new place with lots or space and a great landlord. And then best part of it was that I have a full garage to work in and set up for this sort of thing. We are all super excites to have a place like this where we can entertain and game only to have the world shut down due to Covid.

But with everything shut down it gives us time to unpack and get the house set up now I have the painting area that I have always wanted and a space where I can have my friends over to game.

Maybe this summer we’ll be playing 40k in my Garage….
