Over the last few months I had been thinking about all of the forces that I had in my World War Two collection and I got to thinking that I would really like to have another force for my allies to go against. Along those line I started to think about the options:
  • Finns: Would only see actions against Germans and Russians plus there are limited choices out there as far as figures go.
  • Romanians: Again they would only see action against Soviets and Germans. In addition to that there is really very little out there for them figure wise in 28mm
  • Japanese: While these would give me plenty of options in the way of opponents and figures it is a whole different theater. And would require a whole lot of work to come up with stuff to go against them.

Then I thought the Italians.

When most think of Italians they think of the desert war. However the Italians fought on a lot of different fronts. I looked at their history in WW 2 and they fought in Italy, Sicily, Russia and a few other European locales. Also there are quite a few different figure options that I could use and there are rules for them.

So at the moment I am looking at Infantry from Westwinds with support units from Bolt Action and Vehicles from Company B With all this I feel that I can get a force together that can go up against my Americans, Russians or Brits.

With out the rules in hand, this is what I am thinking that I need:

There are some other things that I would like to add eventually but they might be too theater specific (such as the Semovente 90/53 and the R.35)
